Mazeyar Firouzi to run the London Marathon for Cam-mind
Sunday 17 April 2011
After winning the men's “On-Footse” Top 100 last year, we are delighted that Maz has chosen to support Cam-mind by running this year's London Marathon
“To be honest I have always sponsored my friends when they ran for a charity however I wasn't really comfortable asking people to support me, but this year for London Marathon I have for the first time decided to raise money for a charity. The charity I have chosen to support is Cam-mind and the reason for this is because it's a local charity, which helps people suffering from mental health problems. This is something none of us are immune to and this illness can strike to the strongest of us.”
“I just want to clarify that I haven't set any target for how much money I want to raise as I don't like putting pressure on my friends, especially in these time of financial hardship, so please donate any amount you wish, from £1 to whatever you wish, it doesn't really matter how much it's the action of donating which is more important.”
“Finally I would like to quote a poem from a Persian poet Saadi:
In creation of one essence and soul.
Other members uneasy will remain.
The name of human you cannot retain.”
“Oh yes if you are wondering what my marathon target is then check out the picture one of my friends little kid draw for me :) the pressure is on now :(”
