'PARADES' - Advanced Directive Evaluation Project on Mental Capacity

Thursday 2 February 2012

Find out how you can participate in this survey based study from The University of Nottingham

East Anglia Hub - Mental Health Research Network

NHS - National Institute for Health Research

A survey based study from The University of Nottingham, on the experience of people with bipolar disorder and psychiatrists in the use of the
Mental Capacity Act to plan in advance for the severe episodes of illness.

The study organisers invite you to complete a survey on your experiences and opinions regarding the Mental Capacity Act and using it to make advance plans about important aspects of your welfare, such as medical treatment and finance related decisions

It doesn't matter if you have no experience in using the MCA for advanced planning; the research team would like to hear from people with lots to little or no experience.

If you would like further study details and/or to complete the survey,
you can access them at this link:
http://tinyurl.com/3o5qr5k
It takes approximately 30 minutes to complete.

By completing this survey, you will be helping to improve awareness of the importance of planning ahead for times of illness, as well as highlighting how relevant this is to people who have bipolar disorder.

If you would like a paper copy of the survey instead, please contact Natalie Salimi or Lorna Jacobs the Clinical Studies Officers supporting the Study in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough
