There's still time to get place on ‘alternative’ Top 100

Tuesday 28 September 2010—Cambridge

Cambridge businesses battle for top ‘On-Footse’ places

Some of the Cambridge areas biggest businesses are now on the starting blocks to battle for their place on the region's ‘On-Footse’ Top 100 index this weekend.

Among those joining the Cambridge News at the Cambridge University Athletics track this Sunday will be runners representing John Lewis, Marshall's, Domino's, Britannia, Hewitsons, PricewaterhouseCoopers, ARM and Cambridge Building Society …just to name a few.

All participants with be running 1 mile round the track, as fast as they can, to compete for a top place on Cambridge's alternative business listing — and raise money for local mental health charity Cam-mind…

…And there is still time to enter the big race which has places for 100 employees representing up to 100 local businesses/organisations.

“The race is designed to encourage some good natured rivalry among competing local businesses, but will also be a fun, family event — so you don't have to be a budding Roger Bannister to take part,” explains Aly Anderson, from Cam-mind.

The entry fee for the race is just £25. No sponsorship is required, but entrants are asked to hold a small fundraising activity — i.e. a dress up or down day — in aid of the charity.

Cam-mind will be running a family fun day alongside the main event, featuring stalls and activities for spectators. To find out more check out www.footse100.org for more details and a registration form, or contact Wendy Von Niebel on 01638 661820.
