Volunteering

As a charity Cam-mind is largely self funded and we rely heavily on voluntary support for the work we do.

We are currently seeking volunteers for the following roles:

Befrienders

We are urgently seeking people to become befrienders. Our expanding befriending scheme helps encourage isolated people to regain a social life and be more confident. If you have one to two hours a week to give support and friendship to a service user please get in touch.

We are currently looking for volunteers for the following groups:

Monday Textiles and Art Course 11am–12:45pm

Creative volunteer to facilitate our textiles craft group activities such as fabric painting and patchwork projects.

Tuesday Art Group 11am–1pm

We are seeking two people interested in Art needed to become volunteers in our Art Group on Tuesday mornings between 11am and 1pm.
No experience is necessary — just an interest in Art.

Sawston Group 2.15–4.00pm

Help needed on Wednesday afternoons at coffee group.

Evening Group 7–8.30pm

Bingo, table tennis, DVD nights, games night — come along — help and have fun.

Friday Arbury Group 10.30am–12noon

Helpers needed for coffee and chat.

Bistro Sunday Lunch Club 12.30–3pm

We are looking for volunteers to help set the tables, welcome diners, serve food, and help to clear up afterwards once a month.

If you can help with any of our groups please contact Hannah
on 01223 311320 or co-ordinator@cam-mind.org.uk

Aside from these roles we are always keen to hear from volunteers interested in the following areas:

One to one befriending

Our befrienders give around two hours per week to offer friendship and support to service users with similar interests to themselves.

Community groups and social events

The majority of our groups and activities are facilitated by volunteers and new helpers are always welcome.

Please see the list of our current groups and activities

Fundraising

Volunteers are always needed for our various fundraising events, and to help with our regular street collections. We are also keen to reveive new fundraising ideas.

Please see more information on our fundraising and events

Trustees and committee members

We would love to hear from anyone interested in getting involved in the management of Cam-mind's services. No specific qualifications are necessary — just an interest in mental health and, ideally, relevant knowledge/experience. Specialist skills in areas such as Human Resources, publicity & marketing, IT, finance, law, property management and supported housing would also be a great help to us.

Please see details of our current board of trustees and management reports
