Membership

Description

Membership is the act of financially supporting Cam-mind at a minimum rate of �10 per annum. Trustees/Directors are obliged by our Constitution to be Members. We welcome everyone to become a Member whether they be Supporters, Volunteers or Service users; it is all a matter of whether you are financially in a position to do this and wish to become a Member.

Applying

The most common present means is by using a (downloadable PDF) form on the last page of our pdf Newsletter, which includes application for membership, a Gift Aid Declaration (see below) and a Banker's Order. A number of our Members pay by means of cash or cheque each year rather than by Banker's Order, though there is less administrative work via the Banker's Order system.

Gift Aid

When we receive monies from individuals, we ask whether they are in a position to give us a Declaration to the effect that the amount of money they are giving Cam-mind is covered by income tax or capital gains tax which they have paid or are paying.

We have adopted a system whereby once the Declaration is taken we rely on it for future subscriptions or donations thus placing the onus on the donor to advise cancellation if appropriate. In practice, we intend to follow the Inland Revenue's recommendation in this regard and seek a fresh Declaration from time to time.
